Dilly Bread

This is a recipe that my mother used many years ago. It really makes the kitchen smell good as all bread baking does. Makes 2 small loaves.

1 pkg yeast

¼ cup warm water

1 cup creamed cottage cheese

1 tablespoon onion flakes

2 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon butter

2 teaspoons dill seeds

1 sprig or more fresh dill, coarsely chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

2.25 cups of all-purpose flour

Mix all ingredients except flour in bowl. Gradually add flour to form still dough, beating with mixer after each addition. Let rise about 50 minutes in warm place. Stir down and form into loaves in well-greased pans. Let rise another 30 minutes in the baking pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with butter and a light sprinkle of salt.
