The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

(A summary from the book summary reader, Headway)

We are the architects of our lives – we create our reality from early in life and can influence it to create a new one. The key is in our subconscious mind which with good thoughts can produce beauty and with dark thoughts attract difficulties. What we have today is the result of our thoughts from yesterday and the day before. We can learn to tap the power of your subconscious for healing, fulfilling wishes, and guiding us to success. Heard of Autosuggesion? You’re about to learn more.

Success in life is primarily determined by how we think – Like luck and success, failure is a natural result of habitual thinking. One thought does not produce a new reality. Repetition is what matters. The subconscious mind responds to our conscious thoughts and fulfills them. Changing how we think, we can ourselves and the conditions in which we exist. We can be as happy and prosperous as we imagine.

Consciousness commands and subconscious implements – The subconscious mind implements what we consciously focus on bringing to life, be it good or bad. The subconscious  does not have the power to use thoughts but it can materialize them. Expect the best to get the best. Positive results won’t take long if we synchronize the conscious and the subconscious and unite in a common goal.

How to access this power using these three states – each involves a low activity of consciousness and thought processes.

  • State of relaxation
  • State of being almost asleep
  • State of being almost awake

Use an active imagination and draw a picture of what you desire. Make the picture move as in a movie – a mental movie. Another way is to sum your desire in a short sentence and repeat it five times before going to bed. A final way is to imagine that your desire already exists and you talk to yourself as if you are already using or enjoying it. Feel the happiness and joy and gratitude. Believe in the infinite possibilities in the subconscious mind. Resist the feelings of stubbornness and tension.

Therapeutic prayer – it is not related to religion but to faith. It doesn’t need rituals, and it doesn’t set restrictions. What matters is how much we believe and what we think about it. Prayer like this helps to bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind. Consciously choose an idea that we want to materialize. It is helpful in the process of self healing. You prayer can be short to start. Keep it positive and repeat it daily or several times a day to feel that you are healing and becoming more healthy.

The thoughts of others has no power to influence our lives – when we are young, we do believe adults and accept what we are told. As we age, we tend to rely more on our own thoughts. Sometimes others opinions are difficult to bear when it concerns our fears and anxiety. It helps to deal with this by finding a quiet place and relaxing. Think of positive things to counteract what was said and repeat it to yourself. Strong self belief helps us to resist other’s criticisms. We do not have to give strength to other’s opinions of us and let it harm us.

There is no reason not to be rich, healthy, and young – we are born to be healthy and happy and enjoy abundance. Accept that this can be a rule of life. The subconscious mind heals and renews. Focus on your health and imagine that good health will be manifest in you. Abundance and success signal the correct direction our our thoughts while poverty and lack prove the opposite. You are only as old as you feel.

Your subconscious mind works for us if we let it – it can change our destiny. It communicates with us through intuition, sudden ideas and inspiration. Realize its potential and limitlessness.  Negative thoughts are a habit that can be broken and replaced with positiveness. We are not just observers of our lives.

Try this – write you thoughts on a piece of paper and evaluate the overall tone. Use your meditative prayer by stating what your desire is and repeat it to yourself several times before sleep and when you wake up. Put a reminder on your phone to think about how grateful you are every day.

Another book on a topic like this is Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.

Norman Vincent Peale’s book, The Power of Positive Thinking also discusses this idea.

Stephen Covey’s –Seven Habits of Highly Successful People looks into this with his discuss of an Abundance Mentality.
