Try Sidecar

It’s not the attachment for a motorcycle but a way to make your iPad a second display in landscape orientation. It’s like magic and so handy to have some extra real estate when you need it. You can extend your desktop by showing different apps on your iPad or make it show the same ones on your Mac. WIFI and Bluetooth must both be active on both devices.

The system requirements are:

Mac Catalina or later                          iPad Pro – all models

            Macbook 2016+                                  iPad  – 6th Gen

            iMac 2017+                                         iPad – 5th Gen

iMac Pro                                              iPad Air – 3rd Gen

You can use your iPad wirelessly or connected to your Mac. Both must be signed into the same Apple ID.

To set up the feature, go to Apple Menu>System Preferences, then click Displays. In the lower left corner of that window, click Add Display and select your iPad.

Now to use the feature:

Open an app that you want to move to the iPad.  Click on the green button in upper left corner and select Move to (name of) iPad instead of split screen or full screen. The app will move to the iPad. Also, you can move your cursor from the Mac’s screen over to the iPad and back again, just as if it’s all one large screen

Those are the basic steps. You’ll need to experiment some to see how to move from the “moved” app to other apps on your iPad and navigate. I think you’ll agree that this is a handy tool for research or working when you need multiple screens.

To turn off Sidecar and return to normal screens, use the setup steps above but select “Mac display” (instead of iPad as you did previously).
