Make ChatGPT Your Own

I’ve been using ChatGPT for a few months and am still learning how to make it work for me.

Try these tips to improve your results. Some tips will require an upgrade and monthly subscript to take advantage of extra features.

Third parties create custom GPTs for specific tasks such as writing specific documents such as resumes or academic work, legal or image creation.

With DALL-E, ChatGPT can make images, it can also be used to analyze an image such as a picture, chart, drawings and explain it.

Tell ChatGPT about yourself in Settings>Personal. You could say your age, sex, your career, hobbies, etc. The more it knows, the more tailored the answers.

You can chat with it in real time with back and forth dialog

Tell it to “remember this” in a chat session, and it will use that in future responses.

When you are working on something that is a “project” such as writing, creating instructions for a course, etc. Set up a Project for your conversations to group them in one place.

To tailor responses suggest that it take the role of a senior analyst, or expert witness type language to improve the output.

Be more precise in how it replies by asking for a numbered list or limit response to 500 words, or start with an exec summary and then followed by details.

Ask for formal language, friendly response, or something for an 8th grader to read. Ask it to provide more specifics or rewrite second paragraph with more emphasis on…, etc.

Share your conversation, pin important conversations to top of sidebar, archive old conversations that are important. If response stops for some reason, type “continue”. Use Shift+Enter on desktop version to add a new line without sending.
