The new folding iPhone became available to see and order ($1,999) on October 23. I have picked one up and handled it. The display is definitely a wow. It’s best seen at the Apple Store to be amazed as I was. Hard to describe in words;
With all that said, when I was in the Apple Store near me, I did see a customer returning one due to a bright blue line on the screen. Some phones, it seems, have a fold problem in the internal hinge which causes the screen to malfunction.
Apple has stated that they are aware of the problem. Articles say the replacements seem to work without further problems. It appears that Apple will readily replace the unit. No number of affected Duos has been published and Apple is not recalling the phone.
Maybe it’s best to take a wait awhile attitude to see how this is resolved. Meanwhile visit your Apple Store and be wowed as I was. I’m sure this will be resolved as we’ve been waiting a long time for a foldable iPhone.
