Cool iPhone Tips (the suggestions work on iPhone OS 26.5)

Instant Currency Conversion – on your iPhone, long press a currency amount in Safari, Mail, Messages, Notes and see it converted to your local currency.

Oops, close a tag you didn’t mean to close? Open the tab view and long press the “+” button to see your recently closed. First you’ll see Suggestions, but scroll down the list to see “Recently Closed”

Need to mark up a Safari webpage for empahsis? – Press the “…” in lower right corner and press Share Button, scroll down the pages until you see Markup, select that option. Mark as needed and then the ellipse at the top right corner and click Done if finished or other options to save your Safari page as a marked up PDF or delete. You could mark a receipt, highlight an article and so on.

Manage notifications – when a notification arrives there is a way to deal with it. Swipe left on a particular notification and make ti directly from the Notification Center (i.e. mute for an hour, or a day, view settings and so on. 

Apple Music has a favorites filter – if you like to select favorite songs for albums, you can filter the Library to show only favorites. Go to the page that shows Library at top, then select Playlists, then select the icon that looks like a flower pot (between the + and the ellipses). The drop down will allow you to select Favorites which are the songs that you have “starred” or indicated as a favorite.

Need to see a previous calculation on your calculator? – you can see a recent history. Press the icon that looks like a clock to see a number of previous calculations. 

When using iMessage, select a contact to open the session to start a message. One the left of the message line, the “+” open a list of app such as camera or photos and more. You can press, hold and drag the apps to put the most used at the top of the list. To remove an app, Go to iPhone Settings > Messages > iMessage Apps and toggle it off to hide an app from the app drawer if you do not need it.

On the go and want to remember something important? – dictate an audio file in Apple Notes. Create a new note, press the paperclip icon at the bottom of the screen and then select Record Audio from the list of options. Record you thoughts and it saves the audio and a transcript of what you said. Handy!

Text too small on your iPhone? Open Settings, go to Display & Brightness and then scroll to bottom the last line “Display”, click Default and select Larger Text. This will require a restart to your phone. To reverse, do the steps over again and select Default.
