Google Chrome is Still Spying on You

Apple and Microsoft have warned iPhone users to stop using Google Chrome. The problem is identifying and tracking Chrome users while online.Alexander Hanff Martin of multiple distinct fingerprinting techniques on website to track and identify you without your knowledge while you are online. He states that Chrome ships almost no built-in, anti-fingerprint defenses. Google did ban digital fingerprinting but later brought it back.  Despite warnings Chrome usage is growing. Safari is still outdoing Chrome on Apple IOS devices. 

Chrome, ironically, is more private on an iPhone than on an Android as Apple’s protections are in place. Apple’s advanced fingerprinting protections ae on by default. Signal are scrambled to confuse fingerprinting techniques. Not fail-safe, but it’s a big help. 

Apple has warned specifically about fingerprinting advances. Go to Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced > Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting, and ensure it is set to “All Browsing.

The best way to avoid all this is to refrain from using Chrome even in incognito privacy mode. Google had a privacy sandbox but apparently has abandoned it.
